Dark Horse graphic novel ‘Reversal’ coming March 2025

Two years ago, magic suddenly and violently became a thing again when the Earth’s ley lines reversed.

Press Release

Courtesy of Dark Horse Comics, AIPT can exclusively reveal Reversal, a new graphic novel by writer Alex de Campi, illustrated by Skylar Patridge, and colored by Kelly Fitzpatrick. The story follows young Tré Grant as she takes on a magic-filled journey of monstrous proportions.

“REVERSAL is my love song to the Japanese urban fantasy manga that got me back into comics,” confides de Campi. “There’s high adventure and there’s comedy, but it’s wrapped around ‘slice of life’ and meaningful, deep emotional character arcs as Tré and her family navigate monsters, magic, metamorphosis–and middle school.”

So what’s Reversal about?

Two years ago, magic suddenly and violently became a thing again when the Earth’s ley lines reversed. Now, Tré Grant is just doing her best to survive sixth grade, which is a little more literal than it used to be, thanks to the monsters that regularly emerge from the nearby forest to attack her city. But when she discovers a magical artifact that could be the key to lifting the curse on the forest, Tré accidentally becomes the hero the city needs, even if she’s not the one it expects.

Out in bookstores on March 18, 2025, and comic book stores March 19, 2025, you can preorder starting June 16th.
