Horror Comics Breakdown: 11/23/12

While everyone digests, burps, and farts, let’s look at a few books sure to tie your stomach in knots.

Hellraiser #20

Horror Comics Breakdown: 11/23/12

Written by Clive Barker and Mark Miller, with art by three separate contributors, Janusz Ordon, Jesus Hervas, and Tom Garcia. The final issue. The piece de resistance. What’s there to say?

All Hell breaks loose. I can’t recommend this series enough. Beautiful, dark, and everything you’ve come to expect from the mind of Clive Barker. Barker doesn’t get the credit he deserves as a true literary giant. Often, it seems his love of shocking and breaking taboos confuses simpletons into thinking that he is not a genius. He is. The man could write a note to himself to do errands for the day and make me weep openly upon reading it.

Hellblazer #297

Horror Comics Breakdown: 11/23/12

Still written by Peter Milligan, with art by Giueseppe Camuncoli, and Stefano Landini (he might have worked on 296, not sure, let me check…yeah, he did, forgot if I mentioned that in the other article, um, anyway, back to the proceedings). So Finn is screwed and in Faeryland, Constantine discovers who the real serial killer is, lot’s of stuff occurs. Shocking twists and such. Hey, check this out.

Baltimore: The Play

Horror Comics Breakdown: 11/23/12

Written by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden, with art by Ben Stenback, the one shot tells the story of a crazy playwright who has actors who are vampires.

Fun stuff.

Try not to vomit from the terror. Or too much pie.

Mmmmm, pie.
