AIPT Comics Podcast Episode 62: How do we define comics over the last 20 years?

We wrap up C2E2 news, talk ECCC cancellations, and deep dive into creator opinions on the last 20 years of comics.

We’re back for another week in review of the latest news and comics out March 4th, 2020! In our latest edition, we take a hyper-focus look at the last twenty years of comics and reflect off of the fabulous Polygon article by Susana Polo. What are the biggest creators saying about the last twenty years of comics and where do we go from here?

As always we also recap the news starting with the big news that AIPT and your humble podcasts hosts will be curating a weekly column focused on Marvel’s summer event Empyre! We also wrap up any C2E2 news we have yet to discuss, talk about the many dropouts from ECCC due to Coronavirus, discuss Sean Gordon Murhpy’s “Murphyverse,” discuss the interesting marketing methods Marvel implored to reveal “Iron Cat,” reflect on Neil Gaiman’s newly released Sandman audiobooks and wrap things up discussing David Ewing’s new role as publisher at Heavy Metal.

As always we break down our top books of the week:

  2. Aster and the Accidental Magic #1 (W: Thom Pico, A: Karensac)
