New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced that they have postponed their upcoming Wrestle Dynasty event until 2021.
The announcement comes on the heels of NJPW cancelling this year’s Best of the Super Juniors tour, which was scheduled to begin on May 12 and finish on June 6. Wrestle Dynasty was scheduled to take place at the legendary Madison Square Garden arena in New York City on August 22.
NJPW last held a show at MSG in April 2019 when they partnered with ROH for the G1 Supercard where Kazuchika Okada defeated Jay White to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in the main event.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused NJPW to cancel and postpone over 19 pre-scheduled events. There is no official 2021 date for Wrestle Dynasty at this time.

In response to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, and its continued effect on social gatherings all over the world, NJPW has arrived at the decision to postpone Wrestle Dynasty, which was scheduled to take place on August 22 2020, to a date in 2021 to be announced.
We will announce the new ticket information and event date in the future. In the meantime, pre-sale registration will continue; fans can still sign up to our pre-sale list to be informed of the new date for Wrestle Dynasty the moment details are confirmed, and will still be able to get early access to tickets.
