Triple H on WWE potentially having fans back in Florida’s phase 2 re-opening

Is it safe for WWE to have fans at live events again?

For the first time in 21 years WWE will host an In Your House pay-per-view event this Sunday at NXT TakeOver: In Your House.

The event will see a number of exciting matches, including when Adam Cole defends the NXT Championship against Velveteen Dream in a Last Chance Backlot Brawl, Karrion Kross’ TakeOver debut, and Charlotte Flair will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai.

As he does with every NXT TakeOver, Triple H spoke to the media ahead of Sunday’s historic event about a number of topics beyond NXT, including the possibility of WWE bringing fans back to the performance center for TV events with Florida in the midst of phase two of re-opening.

“Since the beginning of this we’ve been looking at all options finding to figure out how to navigate all of this,” said Triple H. “Since things have changed, we’ve worked closely with the government in Florida to make sure we’re doing everything that they want us to do and then some.”

“This has just come about and all options are on the table for us. We need to understand completely what they’re saying can and can not be done and we’ll respond accordingly. What we do is for our fans and we feel its our duty to continue to deliver for them. They’ve been there for us and we want to be there for them at this time when they need that entertainment. The faster we can get ourselves in front of our fans and doing what we do, the better as long as it’s safe for everyone.”

Wrestling is without question intrinsically tied to its live audience. Heels and babyface’s are created by the crowds who attend wrestling shows and without an audience wrestling just isn’t the same. Of course we don’t have to see anyone infected with COVID-19 and we definitely don’t want companies jumping the gun on having live crowds at their events again. But man, I can’t wait for the day when it can safety happen again.

How do you think WWE should approach having fans back at their live events? Let me know down in the comments or hit me up on Twitter, @heyitsjjtravers.
