EXCLUSIVE Marvel First Look: Moon Knight #1 variant covers

Soak in the awesomeness in these two ‘Moon Knight’ #1 variant covers by Elizabeth Torque and Gerardo Zaffino.

Last week, Marvel Comics announced Moon Knight will return this July and the creative team includes Jed MacKay and Alessandro Cappuccio. It’s an exciting development, especially since Moon Knight hasn’t had an issue since May 31, 2017, when Jeff Lemire and Greg Smallwood wrapped up their run. Time to get even more hype, as Marvel has exclusively shared two variant covers for the first issue with AIPT!

Before digging into the art, be sure to check out the AIPT Comics podcast this Sunday as Jed MacKay will be our special guest. You can also check out an exclusive unlettered preview of Moon Knight #1 here.

First of the two variant covers, check out Elizabeth Torque’s cover.

So what’s Moon Knight about?

The mysterious Mr. Knight has opened his Midnight Mission, his people petitioning for protection from the weird and horrible.  That protection is offered by Moon Knight, who stalks the rooftops and alleys marked with his crescent moon tag, bringing violence to any who would harm his people.  Marc Spector, in whichever guise he dons, is back on the streets, a renegade priest of an unworthy god.  But while Khonshu languishes in a prison that Moon Knight put him in, the white-cowled hero must still observe his duty: protecting those who travel at night. And let it be known – Moon Knight will keep the faith.

Moon Knight #1 will launch on July 7th, 2021.
