If you’ve read Ram V. and Mike Perkins’ The Swamp Thing, you know it’s already being considered one of the all-time best story arcs in the character’s history. It was officially confirmed by DC Comics this week the series will continue on with a second season starting with The Swamp Thing #11, which delighted fans worried it could be cut short too soon.
AIPT aims to delight a little bit more, as we have exclusive previews for both The Swamp Thing #10 (out December 7th) and #11 below.
The Swamp Thing #9 came out this week, furthering the conflict between Levi and Jacob aka Hedera, which certainly raises questions about where we go from here.
To better understand the first season of The Swamp Thing, I was able to chat with Ram V. about the project as a whole. In our conversation, Ram taps into what he’s trying to do with the first season, from the themes of familial duty and colonialism to the relationship between Levi and his brother Jacob.
We’re closing in on an incredibly important moment for the series as well. As Ram V. put it in our conversation, “If issue #1-9 laid out this kind of manifesto of new Swamp Thing, new concerns, Levi, and the kind of story we’re going to tell, issue #10 is going to lay out the manifest of the central philosophical conflict that we’re going to explore in season 2.”
