It’s a great week for comedy with our Channel Surfing TV picks.

It’s a great week for comedy with our Channel Surfing TV picks. Catch the big screen version of Bob’s Burgers. Prepare for more vampire hijinks in What We Do in the Shadows. Then, fight off evil aliens in Farzar.

Getting the Movie Treatment

Last May, Fox’s Animation Domination staple, Bob’s Burgers, took the leap from television to the big screen. If you missed the theatrical run, you’ll soon have the chance to watch it within the privacy of your own home.

The Bob’s Burgers Movie finds the characters in a familiar position. The bank is prepared to foreclose on the titular restaurant and the Belchers need to raise enough money for the payment. However, the stakes are raised when a giant sinkhole appears right outside their business affecting sales. This calls for their biggest adventure yet that can only be contained in a feature film.

Stream The Bob’s Burgers Movie beginning Tuesday, July 12, on both Hulu and HBO Max.

New Beginnings

There was a lot up in the air when we last left What We Do in the Shadows. The band broke up with Nandor and Nadja leaving Staten Island, with Guillermo in tow, looking for other opportunities. That left Laszlo back at the house with a creepy baby version of Colin Robinson.

It’s a year later and the group reunites in the latest season, but they all have their own aspirations. Nandor is looking for love while Laszlo may have found it playing father to little Colin, and Nadja turns businesswoman and opens up her own nightclub. Of course, things don’t run smoothly so its up to Guillermo to clean up everyone’s messes once again.

Watch the two-episode season four premiere of What We Do in the Shadows Tuesday, July 12, on FX.

Zero F’s Given

Roger Black and Waco O’Guin are no strangers to animated adult comedies. They are the minds behind Brickleberry, which was on Comedy Central, and the current Paradise PD. The pair have a new series on Netflix that goes the science fiction route.

Farzar is a fictional planet that used to be threatened by an evil alien named Bazarack and his army. That is until one day, Renzo, the human warrior repelled the enemies and became a leader after establishing a human settlement. Now Bazarack has returned and Renzo’s son, Prince Fichael, leads a ragtag team against the forces but discovers that he might not know the entire truth.

Binge the entire first season of Farzar beginning Friday, July 15, on Netflix.
