On Thursday, Lee Frietag of CBR exclusively revealed that Hasbro will be releasing a 2-pack of Squadron Supreme members Hyperion and Doctor Spectrum.

Even though he’s not a hugely popular character, you’ve likely at least heard about Hyperion — alternate dimension, clear expy for a more heavy-handed Superman, makes mistakes but is ultimately good, etc.
Doctor Spectrum isn’t as well known, but represents the Squadron Supreme’s version of the Green Lantern. If your family is both hypercompetitive and enjoys demolishing each other on game nights, then his costume likely gives you PTSD — a fact that toy reviewer Manny Torres (@xmanny) brilliantly pointed out over on Instagram.
Dr. Spectrum only comes with two accessories (blast effects and a Power Prism gem) while Hyperion doesn’t come with any (BOO!). That said, they’re both decent-looking figures. The Hyperion appears to be on an outdated body, but at least it looks better than the one we got ten years ago.
Look, I’m trying to be more positive in these articles, but Hasbro doesn’t make it easy.
Speaking of everyone’s favorite toy company, the 2-pack will carry an MSRP of $49.99. That puts it at the new base Marvel Legends price of $24.99, which sadly feels like a victory these days. Now preorder information has been released yet, but we should hear something soon.
