EXCLUSIVE Archie Preview: The Cursed Library #1

This is it… this is the moment our horror one-shots have led to… THE CURSED LIBRARY!

Courtesy of Archie Comics, AIPT can share an exclusive preview of The Cursed Library! It’s their next big horror miniseries, going on sale next week, and it establishes linked continuity for the first time in their horror line.

The story features a team-up of Jinx (the new headliner of the horror titles), her best friend Danni (Archie’s first trans character), and Madam Satan, an anti-hero type. It ties together storylines that have run through Madam Satan’s and Jinx’s last few one-shots and features a bunch of easter eggs as characters from unconnected one-shots show up for cameos.

Written by Eliot Rahal and Magdalene Visaggio with art by Craig Cermak, it’s out next week!

“The goal with this scene was simple: Did you ever have your friends over for dinner and were absolutely embarrassed by your parents being giant weirdos? We wanted to do that—but instead of a regular dad . . . the dad is Satan. We really wanted to hit home on the idea that Hell is a pissed-off teenager,” Co-Writer Eliot Rahal said.

Craig Cermak added, “The script really helped set things up for me so I leaned into what the writers suggested, giving the setting an eerie tense feeling but with the humor of Lucifer dressing fancy while having a grimy, unappetizing dining area. Jinx and Danni are uncomfortable but so is Lucifer in his own way—totally out of his element. This is what I love throughout the Archie Horror world: the unsettling moments sprinkled with things that’ll hopefully give readers a good chuckle.”

This is it… this is the moment our horror one-shots have led to… THE CURSED LIBRARY!

When we last left off in MADAM SATAN: HELL ON EARTH, Jinx has the former Queen of the Underworld trapped in the mysterious library, as her father-bestowed demon powers have intensified. To stop Jinx from becoming like her father, her best friend Danni Malloy must rescue and convince Madam Satan to guide her through Hell itself to find the one thing that can possibly save her friend’s soul––Jinx’s mom. Along the way, they’ll also discover a number of faces they’ve seen before, though only in the pages of the terrifying tomes within the cursed library. This three-issue limited series horror event tells a story about the bonds that tie us together and how the only thing that can save the world from evil is radical love. It’s Riverdale’s Return of the Jedi meets Dante’s Inferno. A three-part event that will close the door on the Cursed Library and usher in a whole new chapter of horror stories.
