Marvel reveals the new Age of Apocalypse, and 1 mutant is now in charge

This October, the Marvel Universe enters the AGE OF REVELATION, a new status quo taking place 10 years into the future!

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the legendary Age of Apocalypse, Marvel is launching an all-new X-Men epic this October titled Age of Revelation. Teased last week, this game-changing storyline catapults the X-Men universe a decade forward into a dystopian future shaped by none other than Doug Ramsey, now going by the name Revelation, heir to Apocalypse.

The event kicks off with a surprise: X-Men: Age of Revelation #0, a prelude issue by writer Jed MacKay and artist Humberto Ramos. Select comic shops are already receiving limited “Shadow Drop” variant editions this week, with additional copies now available for order. This issue, featuring a wraparound cover by Ryan Stegman, lays the groundwork for the saga to come.

Then on October 1, Age of Revelation Overture #1 by MacKay and Stegman will officially launch this new era. The storyline spans the entire X-Men line with brand-new titles like Amazing X-Men, Unbreakable X-Men, and Expatriate X-Men, and its influence will ripple throughout the Marvel Universe with unexpected spin-offs like Radioactive Spider-Man, X-Vengers, and Iron and Frost. Full series announcements are set to drop next week.

Set ten years ahead, Age of Revelation envisions a world transformed by Doug’s mutant powers, now evolved to the point where he can literally speak worlds into existence. After being embraced by Cyclops’ X-Men, Revelation uses his abilities to create what appears to be a mutant utopia—but beneath the surface lies a darker truth. Humanity is being erased, and not everyone is on board. A resistance is forming, and war is on the horizon.

“The Age of Revelation is here,” said MacKay. “We’ve built an entire future, and now we’re seeing other creators step in to explore it in their own ways. This is either the dawn of a better world—or the beginning of its end.”

Fans should check with their local comic shop for X-Men: Age of Revelation #0 availability and keep an eye out for full series reveals coming soon. For more, visit Marvel.com.
