Editor’s Note: DC Comics has released official art.
DC Comics has revealed new titles on the way at their DC Vertigo panel at NYCC today. A few of those titles were announced and included previews in an exclusive handed out at the panel. Those titles in the preview handout include:
- The Nice House by The Sea #7 by James Tynion IV and Álvaro Martínez Bueno
- Bleeding Hearts #1 by Deniz Camp and Stipan Morian
- End of Life #1 by Kyle Starks and Steve Pugh
- The Peril of the Brutal Dark: An Ezra Cain Mystery #1 by Chris Condon and Jacob Phillips
Those on hand received a special, exclusive preview of all four titles, one of which is an ongoing series. Check out the cover of that below.
Vertigo has had quite a rollercoaster of a life in the last few years, first being shuttered with DC Black Label taking over, then returning recently and on comic covers via The Nice House on the Sea. Chris Conroy is leading the charge as editor on the books, and he was in attendance to discuss them.
Also announced was 100 Bullets: The US of Anger by Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso. “A lot of blood, blood, blood,” Azzarello said. “Some characters are coming back, though not many of them lived the first time.” The series is coming out in July 2026.
Ram V and Mike Perkins are also reteaming for Black Tower: The Raven Conspiracy. Ram V and Mike Perkins couldn’t be at the panel, but it was described as a “contemporary spy thriller.”
Also announced was Necrataceous by Tom Taylor and Darick Robertson. That makes two zombie titles for DC Vertigo (the other being Bleeding Hearts). On Bleeding Hearts, it was said: “Maybe [being a zombie] isn’t so ethical.”
Grace Ellis and Hannah Templer will also be headlining Fantatic. Fanatic is about the “Parasocial” relationship between creator and fan. Ellis has written about 60 Teen Titan Fan Fictions
Also announced, A Walking Shadow by Si Spurrier and Aaron Campbell. Simon described A Walking Shadow with a /Macbeth quote. He said Stephen King loved the twist.
Stop motion dolls were used in art process.
Also announced, The Crying Doll by Mariko Tamaki and Rosemary Valero-O’Connell!
The panel then wrapped up with DC Black Label news: Coming in April 2026, Swamp Thing #1-4, a continuation of the controversial storyline that was cancelled at the time. In it, Swamp Thing meets Jesus Christ.
Be sure to stay tuned to AIPT as we’ll be sharing more information about all these titles in the coming weeks!
