‘The Flash’ #40 reveals a new official Flash of Central City

There is a new Flash of Central City.


SPOILERS ahead. You’ve been warned.


If you ask me, there are too many characters with Flash powers, and with the word “flash” in their name. By my count, there are at least four, and it’s hard to keep track of them all. Well, today Joshua Williamson laid down the law as far as who is the official Central City Flash.

Barry Allen has been the main Flash for a good while, but after facing Gorilla Grodd he’s depowered.

After being rescued by Wally West, the usual superhero gumption of always beating the villain pops up. Barry doesn’t mince words however when he says:

And to Wally’s shock:

That’s a shake-up I don’t think anyone saw coming! What do you think of this official passing of the guard? Will it stick and does Wally deserve it?
