‘FIFA 23’ to include exciting ‘Ted Lasso’ and AFC Richmond content

Play as the characters and club from Ted Lasso in FIFA 23.

All you Ted Lasso fans get ready to jump into video games since AFC Richmond is coming to FIFA 23. If you thought managing some of the world’s biggest football clubs was exciting, wait until you get your hands on the fictional team from the beloved Apple TV+ series.

Electronic Arts Inc. and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today that players can take control of AFC Richmond. The club can be used in several of the game modes including Career Mode, Kickoff, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons. You can also unlock items such as kits, tifos, Manager items, and other content across FIFA Ultimate Team™(FUT) and Pro Clubs where applicable.

Not only that, but star Jason Sudeikis’ titular character is available as a selectable manager. He can either guide his home club to the top of the league or he even can be used to lead any other squad within FIFA 23. The managerial option works both ways where you can select your user generated avatar or use a real-world licensed manager to take control of AFC Richmond. Similarly, you can create your own player to join the Greyhounds.

Lasso isn’t the only TV character appearing. As part of the “Rest of the World” league in Kick Off, Online Friendlies and Online Seasons, use Roy Kent, Jamie Tartt, Sam Obisanya, and Dani Rojas while playing at the iconic Nelson Road home pitch.

Other related content in FUT and Pro Clubs can be obtained via objectives, challenges, and rewards, designed to be attainable by all players from launch. This comprises of Ted Lasso and Coach Beard manager items, AFC Richmond kits and other FUT club and stadium vanity items including badges, flags and more, as well as Nelson Road Stadium being included in Pro Clubs.

FIFA 23 will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Stadia, PS4, and Xbox One on September 30. Early access for FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition begins on September 27, 2022.
