DC announces new Harley Quinn creative team Tini Howard and Sweeney Boo

Harley Quinn gets a new creative team on March 28th with ‘Harley Quinn’ #28.

DC Comics has unveiled plans for Harley Quinn the series as well as NYCC plans for the character too. Starting with the creative team, DC has revealed Tini Howard and Sweeney Boo are taking over the series on March 28th with Harley Quinn #28.

Then, at NYCC, fans can celebrate Harly Quinn’s 30th anniversary on Friday, October 7th, from 9:00am ET to 3:00pm ET, outside the Javits Center in New York City, for New York Comic Con attendees and Harley Quinn fans to get free Harley Quinn comics, swag, and breakfast, as well as cupcakes to celebrate. DC announces new Harley Quinn creative team Tini Howard and Sweeney Boo

If you haven’t already, fans can pick up Harley Quinn 30th Anniversary Special currently on sale and featuring a who’s who of Harley creators, including writers Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, Stephanie Phillips, Stjepan Šejić, Sam Humphries, Kami Garcia, Rob Williams, Mindy Lee, Terry Dodson, Cecil Castellucci, Rafael Scavone, and Paul Dini, who famously co-created the character along with Bruce Timm for Batman: The Animated Series. Artists bringing the stories to life include Chad Hardin, Guillem March, Riley Rossmo, Šejić, Erica Henderson, Jason Badower, Mico Suayan, John Timms, Dodson, Rachel Dodson, Dan Hipp, and Rafael Albuquerque.

All month DC is celebrating thirty years of the Clown Princess of Crime, the one and only Harley Quinn! The fan-favorite Super-Villain made her debut in Batman: The Animated Series in 1992, and has been back-flipping into fan’s hearts since, from animation, to comics, movies, and an upcoming audio-series–and will be popping up at this year’s New York Comic-Con.

On Friday, October 7th, from 9:00am ET to 3:00pm ET, DC will be celebrating Harley Quinn’s 30th outside the Javits Center in New York City, for New York Comic Con attendees and Harley Quinn fans to get free Harley Quinn comics, swag, and breakfast, as well as cupcakes to celebrate. DC is also excited to announce a new creative team on the Harley Quinn comics, continuing off of the current run. On sale March 28, 2023, Harley Quinn #28 will be written by Tini Howard, writer on Catwoman (where Harley Quinn actually made a guest appearance) and the upcoming Punchline series, with art by Sweeney Boo, who’s also no stranger to the wilder denizens of Gotham City, having recently drawn the Punchline backups in DC’s The Joker, as well as art for Batman: Urban Legends. Don’t miss the continuing adventures of the one and only Harley Quinn, with more gags, cameos, and Ivy than ever!

DC and Warner Bros. Consumer Products have also collaborated with a number of licensees on fun product to show off their Harley Quinn fandom. Funko announced its plans to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Harley Quinn, the iconic Clown Queen of Gotham City, with the release of an all-new GameStop product exclusive and Pop! Head filters. The GameStop exclusive is part of Funko’s Pop! Heroes line and features a 3.75 inch vinyl figure of Harley Quinn with cards (MSRP: $12). The exciting collectible showcases Harley sporting her signature black and red jester outfit and wooden mallet.

Fans will be transported into Gotham City itself with the launch of new Pop! Head filters, available for free on Instagram. The Pop! Head filters will replicate physical Harley Quinn Pop! designs, Including the newly released Harley vinyl with cards and the previously released DC Pride collectible.

To celebrate 30 years of Harley Quinn, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, DC and Palm NFT Studio are releasing a new NFT collection dedicated to the Clown Princess of Crime. These collectibles will grant access to exclusive experiences as part of Harley’s crew.  This free collection of 30,000 Harley Quinn NFTs will drop over two days, starting on September 29 at 9am PST, with early access for DC Bat Cowl Collection holders. The snapshot determining eligibility for early access will be taken on September 28, at 9am PST.
