On Thursday, Borys Kit of the Hollywood Reporter revealed that a new live-action series featuring Spider-Man Noir is in the works at Amazon for their Prime Video streaming service. According to Kit’s report, the show’s script will be written by Oren Uziel (The Lost City). The series will be produced by Sony Pictures’ Amy Pascal along with Chris Miller and Phil Lord, who produced Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Spider-Man Noir (Marvel Comics)
While many folks were introduced to Spider-Man Noir via Into the Spider-Verse, comic fans first met the character in the 2009 Marvel Noir line of comics. The hardboiled take on Peter Parker and his rogues’ gallery resonated with fans, leading to Spider-Man Noir appearing in multiple Spidey-centric events and miniseries during the last 14 years.
That said, I don’t think any of us could have predicted a live-action streaming series centered around the character. It sounds like an expensive proposition, but Amazon has shown that they don’t mind dropping some serious coin on their series that already have a built-in fanbase.
There obviously isn’t any casting or directing news about the project, but that information should start developing soon now that the series has been announced.
