WWE SmackDown card: April 19, 2024
Legado del Fantasma vs. Street Profits vs. Authors of Pain vs. New Catch Republic to determine the #1 contender to the SmackDown Tag Team Championship
WWE’s official preview:
A Fatal 4-Way Match will determine the new No. 1 Contender’s to Austin Theory and Grayson Waller’s SmackDown Tag Team Titles.
A-Town Down won the championships at WrestleMania XL by unhooking the titles, ushering in their first reign as Tag Team Champions together.
The Street Profits, New Catch Republic, Legado del Fantasma, and Authors of Pain will be the four teams that square off for a championship opportunity.
LA Knight vs. AJ Styles to determine the #1 Contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship
WWE’s official preview:
LA Knight and AJ Styles will throw down in a WrestleMania XL rematch when the two face off with the winner earning a championship opportunity at Cody Rhodes and the WWE Championship at WWE Backlash in Lyon, France.
Knight and Styles clashed at WrestleMania XL with The Megastar scoring the victory, but their rematch will raise the stakes with a WWE Championship Match against Cody Rhodes at Backlash on the line.
Both Knight and Styles won Triple Threat Matches to advance to the No. 1 Contender’s Match, setting the stage for this epic rematch.
Bayley (c) vs. Naomi for the WWE Women’s Championship
WWE’s official preview:
The WWE Women’s Championship will be on the line when Bayley defends her title for the first time against someone that’s had her back in her battle with Damage CTRL, Naomi.
Naomi earned a championship opportunity after defeating Tiffany Stratton in a singles match after The Center of The Universe demanded a title match of her own on the most recent episode of SmackDown.
