Tad Stones talks ‘Darkwing Duck’ with hours to go for comics Kickstarter

With just hours left to go, fans have the opportunity to get in on a Darkwing Duck graphic novel. In fact, check out the first issue of the recent series for free, written by Amanda Deibert with art by Carlo Cid Lauro and a cover by David Nakayama, right here.

The comics series kicked off in 1991, with new comics now being published by Dynamite. Dynamite is now offering in collected format the original Disney and Marvel runs. All of which was spinning out of Darkwing Duck creator Tad Stones’ animated series.

Stones told AIPT exclusively, “In the early days of Disney TV Animation, it seemed we never had enough money, and certainly never enough time to do what was being asked of us. But the place was packed with creative people and lots of laughter. Syndication was especially a grind, but although we got lots of scrutiny in development and the first two or three scripts, we were largely left on our own until the first footage came back. We had a ton of creative freedom.” With those struggles the comics live on to this day, and you can own them all right now!

You can nab the complete graphic novel collection now until Wednesday, July 3, at 3 PM EST right here.
