It could be said that we’re entering the Streaming Era of pro wrestling. Yes, wrestling has been streamed for years – WWE started its own WWE Network in 2014 before moving all its massive back catalogue to Peacock – but as of today, the two biggest promotions in the United States are presenting their flagship shows on streaming services live for the first time.
WWE Monday Night Raw, the longest-running weekly pro wrestling show in history (if not the longest-running show period), has moved to Netflix, and for the first time in its 30+ year history will not be available on cable television. The big premiere, which is being treated as a WrestleMania-level event, goes down next week, January 6 from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. But starting today, WWE has a host of exclusive content on Netflix that you can watch right now:
- WWE Raw Vault, which seems to be the eventual home for every previous episode of Raw. Right now, all 52 episodes from 2024, 2023, and 2022 are available, with select episodes from 1993 – 2001 available as well.
- WWE Superstar Profiles, bite-sized looks at 25 of today’s Superstars.
- WWE Legends Profiles, bite-sized looks at various WWE Legends.
- Best of Raw 2024, showcasing, you guessed it, the best moments of Raw over the past year.
- WWE Top 10, a countdown list of best matchups of various categories.
- Road to WrestleMania, 70-90 minute episodes summarizing the roads to various WrestleManias.
- WWE Raw Classics, hosted by Big E, showcasing the best moments on Raw for various WWE Superstars, from “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to CM Punk.
AEW, meanwhile, will stay on TBS and TNT as usual, but Dynamite and Collision will also be simulcast on Max starting with tonight’s Fight For the Fallen episode of Dynamite. Max will also act as a hub for all past AEW PPVs and episodes of Dynamite and Collision. AEW also outlined their plans for the streaming platform a couple of weeks ago:
- All live AEW programming airing on WBD’s networks will also be available to stream on Max and on demand after their live broadcast.
- Dynamite, Collision, Rampage and all AEW pay-per-view library content through the end of 2024 will be made available on Max on a “rolling basis”.
- All episodes of Dynamite and all PPV events from 2019 is available now.
