Kamryn Smith would love for Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas to visit ‘Yo Gabba GabbaLand!’

The Yo Gabba GabbaLand! host Kamryn Smith talks season two and beyond.

Kamryn Smith would have big shoes to fill when she was selected as the new host of the Yo Gabba Gabba! revival Yo Gabba GabbaLand!. She would be replacing the iconic DJ Lance Rock. Although it didn’t seem so difficult for the actress since she put so much of herself into her character Kammy Kam. Ahead of the season two premiere, we spoke with Smith about her approach portraying Kammy Kam and the series in general.

With a full season as the host under her belt, Smith felt why change a good thing for the second season. “I feel like I wanted to keep Kammy Kam the same,” she said. “Season two is like a tail after season one. We’re making the journey longer instead of feeling like two different seasons. I feel like it’s a continued journey of season one.”

Hosting a children’s show like Yo Gabba GabbaLand! requires a lot of energy, but Smith has no troubles staying so positive and lively on screen. “I feel like I’m always pretty bubbly I guess. It came kind of natural and it wasn’t so forced. I feel like though, in season one, I had a little bit of a higher pitched voice if that makes sense, which, I was a little bit younger so I don’t know if I can still do that. I just feel me and Kammy Kam are the same person.”

It also helps to keep the energy so high when there’s so much catchy and danceable music. Many popular performers have appeared on both the revival and original show. Smith has her own thoughts on who she would like to see come on.

“I literally have a huge list because if we could, I would have literally everyone I know on the show. But I would have to say Billy Eilish and her brother Finneas. I think that would be so cool. I think that would be a great little mix on Yo Gabba Gabba.”

Smith also shared a little tease for the upcoming season. “Well I’m so excited for viewers to experience all the new journeys that we’re going on and new places,” she shared. “There’s a really cool place that they’re going to show. I can’t say yet because I don’t want to spoil it. But there are cool places that I’m going to show. But yeah, new journeys, new places. In season two a bunch of the characters show new emotions, and you can see how all the characters are feeling all the time.”

Yo Gabba GabbaLand! season two premieres Friday, January 30, on Apple TV+.
