Why does this matter?
We’ve yet to learn when and even if a new Rick and Morty television season is in the works. Let that sink in. This is your only way of getting more stories of the worst grandfather to ever team up with a young buck with serious masterbation issues.
Fine, you have my attention. What’s good about it?
Vicious.
This issue is plotted very well, dropping readers right at the end of a story where Morty, Summer, and Tiny Rick have taken out a bunch of vampires. This sets in motion a story that involves Summer being kidnapped (and giving some sweet tips on torturing parents), Morty getting some hot vampire sexy time action, and the adults having to clean up the mess. Howard and Starks keep you entertained with plot changes, but also a ton of jokes. There are plenty to be had, from Morty’s horny behaviors disturbing Rick and his mother to the hilariously emo nature of the younger vampires in the story. There are even some fourth wall breaking jokes that’ll leave you with a healthy chuckle.
The backup story by Josh Trujillo sets up a good Jerry adventure defying the expectations of reality with a cliffhanger that should be exciting. This story also pokes fun at Hollywood in a clever way and its rendering of Rick and Morty is spot on.

Marc Ellerby’s art is possibly the best I’ve seen it as he takes on the main story. The characters are straight up like they look in the show and some of the visuals pop well. There are some interesting sound effects used (a beautifully gory SHLONK in the opening panel for instance) and the teen vampire lair is hilariously cliched.
Guys, cover up.
It can’t be perfect can it?
The art in the backup is quite good, save for Jerry who looks way too young. He basically looks like a slimmer Morty and it’ll throw you off.
Is It Good?
An excellent issue that sets up a new arc that vampire lovers are gonna have to buy. Seriously, there are enough jokes here to fill an episode. Read this!
