WonderCon 2019: Ronin Island gets full series order, first issue gets second printing

Initially a five issue mini series, Ronin Island will now be a monthly ongoing series.

Greg Pak and Giannis Milonogiannis original new series from Boom Studios! is going from a five issue mini-series to a full series, the company announced at WonderCon.

Writer Greg Pak said he had come to the sudden realization that the fifth and final issue was going to have to be jam-packed with story content in order to tie the story up in a meaningful way when he got the call it was getting a full series order. “I was really excited, obviously,” Pak told WonderCon attendees.

Vice President of Marketing for Boom Studios! Arune Singh had high praise for the book and it’s success, announcing that the first issue would be heading back for a second printing after selling out.

Ronin Island follows a band of survivors in 19th century feudal Japan following a devastating disaster. As they pick up the pieces of their lives, a new Shogun demands fealty in exchange for protection from a new threat- a mutated horde set on ending humanity.

Ronin Island #1 is on sale now (if you can find a first printing) and #2 his stores this April. For more WonderCon 2019 news, be sure to follow AiPT! Comics on twitter and keep checking AiPTComics.com.
