A classic Batman villain is permanently changed in Batman #75

This is comics though so we’ll see how long he’s changed!

Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned.

It’d be an understatement to say Tom King has changed Batman quite a lot in the last two years. From the Bat/Cat wedding that wasn’t, to Bane’s rise, to Batman’s father coming back to teach him a lesson. The latter change is possibly the biggest since it ties so closely to the psychosis of Bruce Wayne’s origin in losing his parents. It’s not his actual father but an alternate version of him from the Flashpoint universe.

Apparently, his father is quite the violent one too judging by Batman #75. In this issue, many villains pop up thanks to the villains taking over Gotham. Joker, Riddler, Solomon Grundy, Bane and more pop up. Those villains pretty much do and fight as they normally would without being scathed. No, it’s Two-Face who gets the worst of it. About halfway through the issue Two-Face is stuck between a rock and a hard place and decides to put a gun to his own head to make Batman back off.A classic Batman villain is permanently changed in Batman #75

Two-Face threatens to kill Harvey. Normally Batman would knock the gun out of his hand and call it a day. This Batman doesn’t play by the same rules.

Apparently compromising is not an option.

A Batarang right in the eye! And not just any eye, but Harvey’s eye. That’s going to leave a mark! Knowing comics he’ll probably be without an eye for a while, but maybe this is a permanent change.

We soon learn he’s not actually dead though. Batman explains he has disconnected Two-Face from Harvey.

The Harvey side is now “damaged” which may mean he’s going to need to heal from this, or the Harvey side is going to be permanently different. Poor Harvey. It gets worse for him later in the issue when Psycho Pirate uses his powers on Harvey to help Bane.

Whatever happens to Harvey you’ll come away from this issue hoping the real Batman returns to make things right! That’s only part of the story though there is a whole lot more going on in it and I highly recommend you read it all to get the full picture.
