Edward Furlong returns in ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’

Edward Furlong is back as John Connor.

James Cameron was not in attendance at the San Diego Comic Con’s panel for Terminator: Dark Fate. However, that did not stop him from dropping a surprise announcement via livestream. It has been announced that Edward Furlong will reprise his role of John Connor.

Furlong originally played the role of Sarah Connor’s son in the 1991 release Terminator 2: Judgement Day. John Connor had to outrun T-1000, played by Robert Patrick, who was set on his destruction. Furlong’s return is also a reunion as Sarah Connor will be played by Linda Hamilton, the original Sarah Connor.

While Furlong has been working steadily on various projects, he is best known for his breakout roles in the early ’90’s. He starred in Pet Sematary II, Brainscan, Little Odessa, and was featured in Aerosmith’s 1993 music video for “Living on the Edge.” He later went on to star in films such as 1998’s Pecker with Christina Ricci, written and directed by John Waters.

Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters November 1st.
