Jon Moxley pulls out of AEW All Out due to injury

‘In a nightmare scenario, a serious case of MRSA has returned in my elbow.’

Jon Moxley announced via Twitter that he has “a serious case of MRSA” in his elbow, which will force him to pull out of his planned match against Kenny Omega at AEW’s next PPV event, All Out.

“I’m absolutely gutted to have to deliver this news,” Moxley said, calling the situation “a nightmare scenario.” “The timing couldn’t be worse. In this circumstance, I am forced to pull out of the fight 8/31 vs Omega at All Out .”

“I apologize to all involved, most importantly the fans,” Moxley continued in another tweet. “I am incredibly frustrated and pissed off.” However, he did offer some good news: “Should be a quick recovery so I will be 100% for AEW Wednesday nights on TNT.”

“This f*cking sucks,” he concluded.

Rumors have swirled for a few days now that Moxley was fighting through an elbow injury throughout New Japan Pro Wrestling’s G1 Climax. While it was assumed it wasn’t enough to pull him out of AEW’s event next weekend, it appears that that is not the case.

Moxley was scheduled to face off against Kenny Omega, after shocking the wrestling world by appearing at AEW’s first PPVDouble or Nothing, to attack Omega as the show went off the air. Shortly after, Moxley vs. Omega was made official for All Out.

Moxley rose to wrestling superstardom as Dean Ambrose in WWE as a member of The Shield, and instantly became one of AEW’s biggest names upon his signing.

We’ll report more information on Moxley’s condition as it becomes available, and wish him a speedy recovery.
