James Gunn took to social media this afternoon to announce the cast of The Suicide Squad sequel and the are many names attached to this film. Margot Robbie will be returning as Harley Quinn along with Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, and Joel Kinnaman. However, some of the new names might come as a surprise and some are expected as they have been attached to James Gunn’s works in the past.
Sean Gunn, Taika Waititi, Michael Rooker, Alice Braga, and Peter Capaldi are just a handful of the actors attached to the sequel. It has not been announced who they are playing, but there is no doubt that excitement is definitely building up for this film.
The first Suicide Squad film was released in 2016 and starred Margot Robbie and Jared Leto as the Joker. Based on the DC comic, the suicide squad is a group of super villains employed to save the world in order to get their prison sentences commuted.
Warner Bros. is scheduled to release The Suicide Squad sequel on August 6th.
