In 2014, Fox News CEO Roger Ailes was accused of sexual harassment. At the time, the channel denied the allegations. Over the course of the next two years, more accusations would follow leading to Ailes resignation in July of 2016.
Starring an impressive cast that includes Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, and Margot Robbie, Bombshell is a movie centered on the allegations. The topical subject matter and proven actors have already caused the movie to generate Oscar buzz. Lionsgate dropped a new trailer showcasing the multifaceted nature of the film.
The latest look at Bombshell seems to show the movie is about more than the downfall of Ailes. The trailer is fast paced and funny. This looks like it will be a movie that focuses as much on the women as it does on the actual bombshell.
The movie is directed by Jay Roach. Roach is known for Recount which focused on the 2000 Presidential election and All the Way which centered on the Presidency of Lyndon B. Johnson.
Bombshell is scheduled to be released on December 20, 2019.
