Jim Cornette has announced that Kevin Sullivan will be appearing on his podcast, The Jim Cornette Experience, to respond to the matters raised in VICE’s Dark Sing of the Ring documentary covering the Chris Benoit tragedy. This will be the first time that the former WCW star will publicly discuss his relationship with the late Nancy Benoit and the domestic abusive allegations leveled against him by Benoit’s sister, Sandra Toffoloni.
Kevin Sullivan was married to Nancy Benoit in 1985 and later divorced in 1997 after Nancy revealed that she was having an extramarital affair with WCW wrestler Chris Benoit. Sullivan helped Nancy break into the wrestling business as a member of the Satanists faction, where she went on to become one of the best wrestling managers in the business, working in both ECW and WCW.
Season 2 of the critically acclaimed series, Dark Side of the Ring premiered on Tuesday, March 24 on VICE TV with a special two-hour episode focusing on the Chris Benoit tragedy. AEW superstar and wrestling icon Chris Jericho narrates the series, providing a unique perspective as an individual with first hand knowledge of many of the events covered in the documentary. Sullivan declined to participate in the documentary and refused to comment on the domestic abuse allegations when asked for comment by VICE.
You can hear Sullivan provide his side of the story on The Jim Cornette Experience on April 10.
