Yet another streaming network has joined the ever increasingly cluttered streaming market. Does NBCUniversal’s Peacock have the content to draw in audiences? The television content is formidable. With old familiars like Saturday Night Live, newer fan favorites like Psych, and eventually The Office, Peacock seems destined to be a success.
But who would think the movie content would be so good? Executives have always stated there would be movies and there is certainly an impressive library to draw from. A quick look at what Peacock has to offer shows a surprisingly strong library. Here are the best movies on the newest streaming network.

American Psycho (2000)
American Psycho is one of those movies that easily stand the test of time. The story follows Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale) as he tries to make a name for himself in the cutthroat banking world of the 1980s. It is a look at the greed and materialism of the time while also being genuinely scary and delivering laughs.
Fletch (1985)
Chevy Chase is an awful human being. Feltch is charming, funny, and smart. He may not be able to host a late night talk show, but Chase can certainly be likable. Fletch follows a newspaper journalist in Los Angeles. The reporter has a pension for disguises and breaking the big story. Drugs, insurance fraud, and corrupt police are all a part of what is arguably Chase’s best movie.
Gosford Park (2001)
True crime has a very strong following. As Knives Out proved, audiences still love a good old fashioned whodunit, however. Gosford Park is a 2001 mystery set in a quaint English manor. Its ensemble cast includes Stephen Fry, Kelly Macdonald, and Helen Mirren. Incredibly funny and filled with predictably great acting, the movie is a treat for all mystery lovers.
Howard the Duck (1986)
Everybody has those movies they grow out of. One example is Howard the Duck. The story is about a foul mouthed duck who knows karate. What more can a child ask for? As an adult, the wacky science fiction and cheesy music may not hold up. But how can a person say now to a movie they have not watched in decades?
Phantom Thread (2017)
Few movies are as underappreciated while simultaneously being recognized as Phantom Thread. It was nominated for Best Picture in 2017, but few people seem to have ever heard of it. A beautiful story that is tragic and stunning will captivate the audience. The music and costumes are second to none. When an argument can be made that Daniel Day Lewis did not give the best performance in a movie, it is something that needs to be seen.
