DC FanDome ’20: Wonder Woman 1984 – Panel shows off Cheetah

Get the scoop on everything we learned from the Wonder Woman 1984 panel.

DC Fandome kicked off today with the very first Warner Bros. and DC Comics convention with a Wonder Woman 1984 panel. DC FanDome is a convention solely focusing on licensed entertainment owned by Warner Bros. Originally set to cover WB Games, film and TV, and comics, Saturday’s schedule is looking to cover mostly movies, but Wonder Woman 1984 is a great place to start!

The prerecorded 25-minute panel opened introducing the director Patty Jenkins and the cast including Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Kristen Wiig (Cheetah), and Pedro Pascal (Maxwell Lord). After introducing themselves, pre-recorded fan questions were asked from around the world. The answers appeared to be on the fly though as the actor reactions to the questions seemed legitimately surprised and tickled. That includes a question from Venus Williams who asked who would win at a tennis match between Wonder Woman and Cheetah. Wiig joked Cheetah would win because Wonder Woman would have clothes and a racket made of gold that’d be too heavy to play with.

In between answers clips from behind the scenes were shown of most were low key scenes like Chris Pine and Gal Gadot walking around interiors of malls and office settings.

Another guest included Lynda Carter who had a question for the entire group. She shared a story about how the movies are helping keep Wonder Woman relevant to younger fans including her daughter. Jenkins said that story is deeply meaningful to her and Gal Gadot echoed the sentiment.

The panel then moved on to showing off fan cosplay and art with most of the cast commenting on each piece. To end the panel, Jenkins set up a new trailer reveal. The second official trailer showed more plot and a lot more Cheetah. There’s plenty of Steve and Diana scenes too.
