The Tribeca Film Festival will be home to some of the most intriguing movies of the year. There are many types of films covering various genres and different topics. From documentaries about famous pieces of art to arthouse films about writers wandering New York, some stories are focused on asking questions. Here are the most compelling films coming to Tribeca.

As the school faces the ramifications of what founder Mike Landry has done and how he accomplished it, four students face the uncertainty of their futures. 

Italian Studies

Academy Award nominee Vanessa Kirby stars as a writer who has no memory of who she is. As she wanders the streets of Manhattan trying to put the pieces of her life back together, she is drawn to a charismatic teenager. Kirby is exceptional yet again and the writing highlights great character development. The dream-like movie captures a pre pandemic New York while searching for answers.

The Lost Leonardo

The recent fervor over NFTs has proved just how wild the collecting market can become. For decades collecting rare art pieces has been a way to show off wealth, power, and importance. The documentary examines the most expensive painting bought at auction (a whopping $450 million) and whether the painting is authentic or if the people involved just want it to be.

Ultrasound

Part anthology movie part dovetail storytelling, the movie consists of three seemingly unconnected stories. In one, a man goes to a house for help after his car gets stuck. The couple inside soon present him a unique offer. Elsewhere, Katie is in a romantic relationship that seems like gaslighting. At that same time, a woman involved in a strange experiment wonders if she is doing more harm than good. But what do they have to do with each other?

Werewolves Within

Based on the video game of the same name, the film finds a group of people trapped in a lodge. The first problem is they all disagree about a potential pipeline and do not want to be around each other. The other issue is the lack of trust. Things become even worse as the bodies start piling up. Plus, one of them may be a werewolf.
