Meet the Cast of ‘Adora and the Distance’

‘Adora and the Distance’ is about Adora who must brave the fantastical world of pirates, ghosts, and ‘The Distance’ which threatens to destroy it all.

Courtesy of ComiXology, we have an exclusive look at Adora and the Distance, a new ComiXology Originals graphic novel out June 15th. Written by Marc Bernardin with character designs and art by Ariela Krisantina, the new YA fantasy graphic novel follows the epic adventures of Adora, a brave young woman of color who lives in a fantastical world with underground pirates, ghosts, and a mysterious force called “The Distance” which threatens to destroy it all.

Adora
She’s the heroine of our story. Not that she wants to be — Adora would be content to just live the life of a carefree girl in a seaside city, playing with the wind in her hair. But she’s plagued by prophetic dreams. She’s called to face an all-encompassing force known as…the Distance.

Esperanza
Adora’s handmaiden and best friend. She adores her younger charge and won’t let her journey into the wilds alone.

El Moor
El Moor is more than a bodyguard. Or, at least, Adora thinks so, given that El Moor never says a word — but remains ever vigilant. Always by her side.

As a father figure to Adora — but not her father — Rafael cares deeply for his young ward and tries do to everything in his considerable power to keep her from venturing out into the dangerous world.
