Greg Capullo shares first images of new ‘Batman/Spawn’ crossover

Based on the art revealed, the new ‘Spawn/Batman’ one-shot can’t come soon enough.

Batman and Spawn have had their fair share of crossovers, and at SDCC, we all learned they’ve got another adventure coming out on December 13. Little is known about the comic, save that Greg Capullo is drawing it and supplying covers too. In fact, when it was announced at DC’s Jim Lee & Friends panel, we didn’t even have a single piece of art to look at.

Thankfully for impatient fans, Capullo has supplied art over the last few days as it appears he’s hard at work on the 48-page one-shot.

The latest image shared features what looks like cover art or a montage. It features Batman’s rogues, including Two-Face, Penguin, Joker, Poison Ivy, Killer Croc, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, and a few Court of Owls too. Based on how a few faces are cut off, this is likely a double-page splash or a gatefold cover.

Next up is a shot of Batman wearing quite a large Batman emblem on his chest. Look at that huge fist of justice!

Next up, Capullo shared a shot of a young Bruce Wayne punching some bullies. That’s just a guess, though! This desk shot is particularly exciting as it features the title Spawn/Batman in the title field of the paper. Whether or not that means Spawn gets top billing remains to be seen.

It’s also the first page in the comic, which means we may open on a flashback.

Last but not least, Capullo shared a panel of Spawn and Batman brooding and looking menacing.

Capullo also tweeted an image of Joker, which seems to confirm that the villain will be popping up in the crossover. Check that out below.

The Spawn/Batman crossover wasn’t the only thing they announced at the SDCC panel. It was also revealed DC Comics will be reprinting Batman/Spawn War Devil with a release date of November 15.

What do you think? Are these panels of art getting you more excited for the new one-shot?
