Chip Zdarsky declines role as Mr. Fantastic; offers Nathan Fielder as top choice

Is Chip Zdarsky right, can Nathan Fielder and his really good grades pull off Mr. Fantastic?

Chip Zdarsky made waves last week with a campaign petitioning himself as the best option to play Reed Richards in the MCU Fantastic Four movie, but today gave fans an update they may not hear. Not leaving us completely empty-handed, Zdarsky suggested Nathan Fielder from such shows as Nathan for You and The Rehearsal should take on the role of Mr. Fantastic.

As Zdarsky detailed in his latest Substack post, Nathan Fielder would be perfect because he got really good grades, thinks up “out of the box” ideas, and he’s been the “talk of the town” with The Rehearsal. Plus, he’s Canadian, so he’s got that going for him.

Zdarsky’s pitch:

I believe the new Reed Richards should be Nathan Fielder.

If you don’t know him, Nathan is a Canadian comedian who graduated from one of Canada’s top business schools with really good grades (like Reed Richards) and went on to help businesses with “out of the box” ideas (like Reed Richards):

Recently he’s been the “talk of the town” (like Reed Richards) with his new show The Rehearsal, where he is a cold, calculating monster trying to understand humans while creating wildly elaborate scenarios (like Reed Richards).

Basically, he’s perfect. I even cobbled together some concept art to showcase how he’d perfectly integrate into the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

So let Marvel know you need #fielder4reed now and that John Krasinski can go play Willie Lumpkin or whatever.

And the art Zdarsky supplied to go with that pitch:
