The Next Stage
The Big Door Prize is based off of a book of the same name written by M.O. Walsh. In it, a mysterious machine suddenly appears in a small town grocery store that has the ability to reveal a person’s true potential. The revelations has everyone rethinking their lives.
True potential is only the beginning for the Morpho machine. The new season tells the residents of Deerfield to prepare for the “next stage.” A couple decides to take a break, others find romance, and some search for the purpose of the machine.
The Big Door Prize season two launches Wednesday, April 24, on Apple TV+.
Supernatural Sleuths
Almost two years ago, Neil Gaiman’s influential comic, The Sandman, was adapted and released on Netflix. It looks like the universe is expanding with a new show called Dead Boy Detectives.
The best detectives of the mortal plane are actually a pair of ghosts. Edwin and Charles help other ghosts solve their mysteries because they are the only ones best equipped to do so. They team up with a clairvoyant named Crystal and her friend named Niko to take on challenging paranormal cases, all while evading Death.
Stream the entire first season of Dead Boy Detectives beginning Thursday, April 25, on Netflix.
Warrior in Training
Idris Elba’s Knuckles made his first appearance in the film Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The best warrior in the universe is tricked into helping the evil Doctor Robotnik. In the end, he switches sides and joins the good guys to save the day. Now audiences can get to know the video game inspired echidna in his very own series.
Knuckles bridges the gap between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The titular character is the last of his kind, but plans on rebuilding his tribe one warrior at a time. His first recruit is Green Hills Deputy Sheriff Wade Whipple, played by Adam Pally.
Knuckles premiers Friday, April 26, on Paramount+.
