We have a very animated installment of our Channel Surfing TV picks of the week. Star Trek: Prodigy is back from cancellation with new episodes on a new home. Prepare for more, but shortened, Heeler hijinks in Bluey Minisodes. Then, take up supernatural cases with the Psi Cops.
A Second Life
Almost a year after it was cancelled, Star Trek: Prodigy returns to our screens for a second season. When we last left off, the crew sacrifice the Protostar to minimize the destructive effects of the Living Construct on Starfleet. Though they are placed on trial afterwards, Admiral Janeway comes to their defense.
In the new season, Dal and company are assigned as warrant officers onboard the U.S.S. Voyager-A. They help in the search for the missing Captain Chakotay while also trying to bring peace to Gwyn’s home planet. However, they still must find a solution to the unstable time rift they created following the Protostar’s destruction.
Stream the entire second season of Star Trek: Prodigy beginning today, July 1, on Netflix.
Big Fun in a Small Package
The Fourth of July might be a good time to watch Bluey Minisodes. That is if you don’t binge them all the day before when they are released. In total, the first batch will consist of seven episodes running one to three minutes.
Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, Chilli and the rest of the family and friends get into all sorts of wholesome fun and games. Bluey and Bingo go into dance mode with a new song that their dad finds annoying. Muffin makes her first unboxing video but has difficulties focusing on the task at hand. Get ready for all these stories and more.
The first seven episodes of Bluey Minisodes drop Wednesday, July 3, on Disney+ and rollout on Disney Jr. and Disney Channel throughout the week.
Paranormal Investigators
There’s been a history of special agents investigating the unexplainable on TV. Of course, there’s Fox Mulder and Dana Scully from The X-Files. Olivia Dunham and Peter Bishop from Fringe. Now, there is Kydd and Felixx of Psi Cops.
The series follows Kydd and Felixx whose relationship can be described as coworker friends forever. The pair are detectives for the secret organization, Psi Cops. They stumble their way through cases involving aliens, ghosts, and other supernatural phenomena.
Psi Cops first premiered in Canada but debuts in the United States this Sunday, July 7, on Adult Swim.
