“It’s always special when you get to revisit worlds and work from your past, especially when they are as meaningful as the original C.O.W.L. is to Alec, Rod, and myself,” said Higgins. “In 2014, we launched our first creator-owned series at Image Comics, C.O.W.L., which was based on my college thesis film The League, both of which have now been folded into the Massive-Verse. Our four issue miniseries, C.O.W.L. 1964 is both the conclusion of the original story we started 10 years ago as well as the beginning of important foundational elements to the Massive-Verse that will span years to come. Rod’s artwork has never been more stunning and the subject matter we are looking to explore, never more relevant. We cannot wait for old readers and new to join us on this journey.”
In addition to C.O.W.L. 1964, there will be reprints of C.O.W.L. Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 coming out this year. The reprint of C.O.W.L. Vol. 1 will be on sale timed to the release of C.O.W.L. 1964 #1 and the reprint of C.O.W.L. Vol. 2 will be on sale in the fall. The C.O.W.L. Vol. 1 reprint will feature new artwork from Rod Reis and an updated cover by Trevor McCarthy, and The C.O.W.L. Vol. 2 reprint will feature a cover by Rod Reis.
