The new James Gunn Superman movie is highly anticipated, and now we’ve got a teaser trailer to peruse. From a comic book fan perspective, this teaser may be the most comic feeling Superman yet. It features Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, Mr. Terrific, and Kaiju to fight, too.
If I were to wager a guess, it appears this film will be about how alone Superman feels. From only his dog Krypto around to save him to the public screaming at him and throwing trash, he’s clearly very alone multiple times in the trailer. The fact that it ends with Lois hugging him says it all: He wants to be loved.
Also, Nathan Fillion with that haircut. Chef’s kiss.

It’s great to see DC Studios taking the Superman license and making it even more comic-book accurate. Plus, they recently released an excellent Christopher Reeves documentary, which you can check out on digital.
