Dark Horse Books is bringing back The Nobody, Jeff Lemire’s haunting reimagining of H.G. Wells’ The Invisible Man, in a brand-new hardcover edition coming Winter 2026. Originally published by Vertigo and long out of print, this fan-favorite graphic novel returns with Lemire’s signature blend of eerie atmosphere and emotional storytelling, drawing inspiration from The Unknown Soldier and Twin Peaks. The book is both written and illustrated by Lemire (10,000 Ink Stains: A Memoir, Absolute Flash), with lettering by Sean Konot.
What’s The Nobody about?
In the quiet fishing village of Large Mouth, nothing much happens—until a bandaged, goggle-wearing stranger checks into the local motel. As curiosity builds, the townspeople begin to uncover the unsettling truth behind his presence.
The Nobody (New Edition) is a 176-page hardcover (6.625” x 10.1875”) arriving in comic shops on February 4, 2026, and in bookstores the day before. It’s available for pre-order now through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and local retailers for $29.99.
Fans curious about how Lemire’s personal experiences and struggles shaped The Nobody and his other acclaimed works (Sweet Tooth, Essex County, The Underwater Welder) can dive deeper in his upcoming memoir 10,000 Ink Stains.
