Ahead of San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Oni Press has announced the return of its hit video game-inspired comic Cult of the Lamb with a brand-new special issue. Arriving in comic shops on October 29, Cult of the Lamb: Schism Special #1 continues the darkly charming saga that began in Cult of the Lamb: The First Verse, a breakout success with fans and critics alike.
Created in collaboration with game developers Massive Monster and publisher Devolver Digital, this 48-page one-shot reunites writer Alex Paknadel (Astonishing X-Men) and artist Troy Little (Rick and Morty vs. Dungeons & Dragons), who are once again diving deep into the twisted mythos of the cult-following game.
In Schism Special #1, the Lamb finds themselves in crisis after the loss of their first and most loyal follower. While the cult’s numbers grow daily, the Lamb struggles to guide them, leaving their power stagnating—and testing the patience of The One Who Waits. When famine strikes, a new contender rises to challenge the Lamb’s authority, threatening to unravel everything.
The issue will feature multiple cover variants, including a haunting main cover by Peach Momoko (Ultimate X-Men) and a backup by Troy Little, along with a foil full-art variant by Momoko and a red sketch edition.
Following the critically praised First Verse miniseries, which expanded the world of the game with sharp storytelling and unique visual flair, Schism Special promises more cult-building, dark humor, and otherworldly tension.
