Skybound & Image unveil trailer for Robert Kirkman & David Finch’s ‘Skinbreaker’

The trailer showcases Finch’s career-defining artwork and offers a first look at the high-stakes fantasy tale.

Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics have released the first official trailer for Skinbreaker, an upcoming epic from comics powerhouses Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead) and David Finch (Batman, New Avengers), with colors by Annalisa Leoni (Invincible Universe: Battle Beast) and letters by Rus Wooton (Transformers). The eight-issue series launches September 24, 2025.

The trailer showcases Finch’s career-defining artwork and offers a first look at the high-stakes fantasy tale, teasing a desperate fight for survival, a choice that will change everything, and an ancient threat that could spell the end for an entire people.

At the heart of the story is Enor, a seasoned chieftain whose reign is nearing its end. He wields the legendary weapon known as the Skinbreaker, but age has left him too weak to wield it for long. With their world on the brink of collapse, his reluctant heir Anok must decide whether to step into leadership—or risk losing everything to both internal strife and the looming darkness beyond their village.

Skinbreaker #1 will feature a stacked cover lineup, led by Finch’s main cover and portrait variant. Incentive variants come from Ryan Ottley, Lorenzo De Felici, Eric Canete, and Tony Moore, along with ultra-rare collectibles such as a 1:1000 CGC signed and graded foil cover signed by both Finch and Kirkman, a die-cut foil mask cover, and a 1:2500 original Finch art sketch cover.

Fans can also experience the debut in grand style with the Skinbreaker #1 Treasury Edition—a 10” x 14” oversized format printed on deluxe newsprint, designed to showcase Finch’s art in all its brutal, bone-crushing glory.

Skinbreaker #1 (of 8) will be available September 24, 2025, in comic shops and on digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play for $4.99, with the Treasury Edition priced at $14.99.
