This fall, AHOY Comics is set to deliver a heartfelt and hilariously twisted sci-fi adventure with Death Dog, a two-issue comedy series from writer Bryce Ingman (My Bad) and artist Alan Robinson (New Fantastic Four). The 32-page debut issue will hit comic shops on November 5, 2025, featuring a main cover by Robinson and a variant by Shannon Wheeler.
Set in a near-future America where most kids work instead of going to school, the story follows Wyatt, a 13-year-old wrongly accused of shoplifting and hunted by deadly robotic dogs. His luck changes when a strange event turns one of these relentless machines into a friendly, fiercely protective robodog—becoming Wyatt’s unlikely ally in a society that’s abandoned its children.
“Robot dogs creep me out,” Ingman admits. “But I wanted to flip that fear into something good—a story about a soulless machine becoming a soulful hero. With Alan’s brilliant art, I think we pulled it off. Death Dog is about a neglected boy and a reborn ‘dog’ taking on a world that doesn’t care about either of them.”
Robinson adds, “I’ve learned to love and fear dogs at the same time—especially robot dogs! This was so much fun to draw, and working with AHOY is always a pleasure.”
AHOY Editor-in-Chief Tom Peyer calls the book soulful as well as funny, quoting Captain Beefheart: “You can tell from the kindness of dogs the way a human should be.”
Death Dog #1 arrives in stores on November 5.
