Welcome back to another edition of Fantastic Five, where we give props to the very best comics of the week! This week, three different publishers received perfect 10s, across intense nostalgia, quality family time, and an impactful tie-in. Let’s get to the books!
Best comics of the week: February 4, 2026
#5: D’Orc #1
D’Orc #1 is a fast-paced, funny take on the fantasy genre, thanks to Brett Bean’s unique art style. If you love The Legend of Vox Machina, The Mighty Nein, or you’re sad that Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves probably won’t get a sequel, you need to pick up this comic.

#4: DC x AEW #1
Mashing up the DC and AEW rosters has felt like a long time coming, and I’m happy to say that the final result is a lot of fun. It probably won’t get DC fans to check out Dynamite or Collision next week, but it just might get AEW fans to head into the comic shop and try out some DC books. At the very least, we get a very entertaining comic that highlights the exciting and bombastic nature of comics and wrestling, and to me that’s All Elite.

#3: Magik and Colossus #1
The current “From the Ashes” era for the X-books is just getting started, but I really doubt any of these new titles will hit the same heights that Magik and Colossus does. Allen and Peralta mix the interpersonal drama and high-stakes action that the X-Men are known for so effectively that I cannot wait to read the next issue to see how these two handle this mysterious threat, and if Illyana can reach her brother and get him the help he needs. It’s still early in 2026, but Magik and Colossus may end up one of the best debut issues of the year.

#2: DC K.O.: Knightfight #4
‘DC K.O.: Knightfight’ #4 successfully stabs Batman in the heart
At best, the popularity of this issue might spawn a future miniseries set in this possible timeline, but the point that DC K.O.: Knightfight #4 alludes to is that this future will never be Batman’s reality. It’s this cruel realization that makes the events of this story more emotionally impactful and not just a tie-in that reads like a bonus episode.

#1: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Battle Nexus #4
‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Battle Nexus’ #4 just gets it
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Battle Nexus #4 delivers and it delivers hard, hot and fresh to your door in 30 minutes or less (or your money back!). Pizza time, all the time. What a fantastic issue that had me jumping out of my seat. It had me sitting back and bittersweetly reminiscing on the day that Peter Laird might return to Mirage Volume 4. It hit me right where it hurts: my heart. Sometimes a bit of fan service is okay, don’t you think? Especially fan service this fun, and written this well. It’s books like this that always remind me… why I LOVE bein’ a turtle.
