Marvel has shared an exclusive first look at Cyclops #2, the next chapter in Alex Paknadel and Rogê Antônio’s intense limited series that drops Scott Summers into a brutal survival scenario far from the X-Men.
If you missed it, Paknadel recently stopped by X-Men Monday to break down his approach to Cyclops, and it’s absolutely worth a read. He digs into Scott’s defining trait, duty, and how this series strips him down to his core by removing his visor, his team, and his usual structure. That context makes this preview hit even harder.
In the series, Cyclops finds himself hunted in the wilderness without his visor and cut off from the X-Men. Forced to rely on old instincts and survival skills, Scott has to navigate a situation where leadership and strategy are not enough to guarantee control.
Paknadel described Scott’s mindset as someone who defaults to restoring order, even when chaos is closing in. That tension continues in issue #2 as the stakes escalate and Scott’s situation grows more volatile.
The book also introduces Mei, a young mutant stranded alongside Scott. Their dynamic pushes Cyclops into uncomfortable territory, forcing him to lead without the certainty and authority he usually commands.
Visually, Rogê Antônio leans into the harsh isolation of the setting, amplifying the vulnerability that comes with Scott being separated from his visor and support system. The tone remains tense and grounded, with survival horror elements woven into classic mutant storytelling.
If you want deeper insight into Paknadel’s take on Cyclops and why this particular story matters for the character, be sure to check out his full X-Men Monday interview. For now, you can preview the next chapter of Scott Summers’ ordeal below.
