Eagle-eyed fans might have noticed JLA/Avengers #1 was in the May 2026 solicitations, and today Marvel has revealed Avengers/JLA #4 is coming to comic shops in August.
The return to this series via facsimile editions starts this summer. Marvel Comics and DC Comics are teaming up once again to bring JLA/Avengers, the landmark 2003 crossover by Kurt Busiek and George Pérez, back to comic shops. The four-issue series will be reissued as Facsimile Editions, presented in their original format with classic trade dress and wraparound cardstock covers. Marvel will publish issues #1 in May and #3 in July, while DC will release issue #2 in June and issue #4 in August. Each installment will also feature new variant covers.
Widely regarded as one of the most ambitious crossovers in superhero history, JLA/Avengers united Busiek with his longtime Avengers collaborator Pérez for a story that brought together the full rosters of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the Justice League. The series delivered universe-spanning action, with the Justice League battling Terminus and the Avengers confronting Starro, before sending each team into the other’s world on a high-stakes quest that threatened both realities.
These new editions are a continued push from Marvel and DC after launching Deadpool/Batman and Batman/Deadpool one-shots last summer.
Fans can preorder JLA/Avengers #1 Facsimile Edition at their local comic shop now and secure all four issues ahead of their staggered summer release.
