As anticipation builds for Thief: Pulse of Promise, the upcoming officially licensed graphic novel expanding the world of Thief, AIPT can exclusively reveal a first look at one of the campaign’s most coveted collectibles: the limited-edition Garrett Mechanical Eye Collector’s Set.
Crafted for longtime fans of Looking Glass Studios’ legendary stealth franchise, the premium collector’s set centers on a detailed replica of Garrett’s iconic mechanical eye. The collectible package also includes a custom display base, an engraved wooden collector’s box, and exclusive artifacts tied to the Order of the Hammer, including a scroll and wax seal. The set will be available as part of Bit Bot’s forthcoming BackerKit campaign for Thief: Pulse of Promise.

The reveal arrives at a particularly exciting moment for Thief fans. Following the recent announcement of Thief: The Dark Project Remastered from Nightdive Studios, Eidos-Montréal, and Atari, Bit Bot is expanding Garrett’s world with an all-new graphic novel adventure set between Thief: The Dark Project and Thief II: The Metal Age.
Written by Joshua Viola (Legacy of Kain, The Rocky Horror Show) and Sean Eads (Terror in the Corn, Lord Byron’s Prophecy), with interior art by Emanuele Ercolani (Masters of the Universe, ThunderCats) and Gianluca Papi (Mercy, Unnatural), Thief: Pulse of Promise follows master thief Garrett as a routine heist spirals into a dangerous conspiracy involving ancient Keeper secrets, mysterious powers beneath the City, and a young boy whose destiny may alter the future itself. Familiar faces, including Artemus and Father Karras, will also appear, helping bridge a pivotal chapter in Garrett’s journey toward the Age of Metal.
“Thief remains one of the most influential and beloved stealth game franchises ever created,” said co-writer and Bit Bot co-owner Joshua Viola. “Every aspect of Pulse of Promise was developed in close collaboration with Eidos-Montréal to help ensure the story, characters, factions, and world align with what longtime fans would expect from this era of Garrett’s life. We wanted this to feel like a genuine standalone chapter between The Dark Project and The Metal Age.”
Originally released in 1998, Thief: The Dark Project revolutionized stealth gaming through its immersive worldbuilding, emergent gameplay, and atmospheric storytelling. With Thief: The Dark Project Remastered arriving this winter and Pulse of Promise expanding the franchise’s lore, 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Garrett and the City.
The Thief: Pulse of Promise BackerKit campaign will feature three editions of the 147-page graphic novel, ranging from a standard hardcover to a deluxe edition packed with bonus content and collectible packaging. Beyond the books themselves, fans can also expect an original soundtrack by Celldweller featuring new performances from legendary Garrett voice actor Stephen Russell, alongside a premium lineup of collectibles that includes a Garrett statue, plush, art prints, apparel, and now, the newly revealed Garrett Mechanical Eye Collector’s Set.
“Thief isn’t just a masterclass in stealth gameplay, it’s one of the most innovative and influential modern dark fantasy stories, period,” said Bit Bot Creative Director and former Halo and Perfect Dark franchise creative director Frank O’Connor. “It’s an honor to witness the expansion of that storytelling and narrative evolution in graphic novel format, and I’m genuinely enthralled to see what the world thinks of Garrett’s next cynical outlook on what it means to thrive, survive and purloin interesting swag in Thief: Pulse of Promise.”

Fans can sign up now on the Thief: Pulse of Promise BackerKit pre-launch page to be notified when the campaign launches. Early supporters who reserve before launch will also receive an exclusive, custom-minted Thief collectible coin available only through BackerKit.
