Marvel Comics continues its countdown to Amazing Spider-Man #1000 with the reveal of several new variant covers for the milestone issue, which arrives in comic shops on September 16. The landmark installment promises to serve as a major chapter in Joe Kelly’s ongoing run while also celebrating Spider-Man’s storied history through a collection of anniversary stories.
The oversized issue will feature two primary covers from the current series’ lead artists. Acclaimed illustrator Paolo Rivera teams with legendary Spider-Man artist John Romita Jr. for a painted cover, while Pepe Larraz contributes a dynamic traditional cover. Both artists will also provide additional variant covers for the release.
Marvel also revealed new variant covers from a lineup of celebrated creators, including Erik Larsen, MR Garcin, and Julian Totino Tedesco. In addition, the issue will feature a Marvel Studios variant cover commemorating the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which arrives in theaters on July 31.
One of the special anniversary stories in Amazing Spider-Man #1000 reunites two beloved Spider-Man creators, writer J.M. DeMatteis and artist Humberto Ramos. Their story, titled “Requiem of a Goblin,” is highlighted by a newly revealed variant cover by Ramos.
Amazing Spider-Man #1000 goes on sale September 16. Fans can reserve their copies now through their local comic shops.
