Leaked ‘Avengers 4’ set photos reveal potentially huge plot twist

Warning: Possible spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4.

The two most anticipated films of 2018, Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War are almost upon us but don’t sleep on Avengers 4; the tenth and final installment of Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase Three is already well underway in the filming process.

Listen to the latest episode of our weekly movies podcast, Adventures in Movies!

The following behind-the-scenes set photos (courtesy of Twitter fan pages @50shdsofdowny and @cevansculture) featuring Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and Bruce Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) reveal what could potentially be huge plot elements of the movie: flashbacks and/or time travel — the latter certainly not without the realm of the Time Stone’s capabilities, which currently lies in the possession of one Dr. Stephen Strange.

The evidence? Cap sporting his full-on uniform from the first Avengers film (instead of the bearded Nomad look he’s been sporting in Infinity War trailers).

Is Captain America’s appearance the result of flashbacks, time travel or something really cool that we don’t even know about? Will he survive the events of Avengers: Infinity War? Sound off in the comments.

Avengers 4 is set for a May 3rd, 2019 release, but first Cap, Iron Man, and the rest of the crew must face Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, due May 4th, 2018.
