Unboxing/Review: Loot Crate January 2018

It’s a new year and there’s a new loot crate to review.

Happy New year everyone. It’s a new year and that means new Loot Crates. Today we dive into the first loot crate of 2018 in our video unboxing review. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Loot Crate, it’s a subscription service made for the nerds of the world. Once a month you’re shipped a box with a t-shirt and handful of other collectibles, with themes ranging from video games to television, film and comics. Shipping woes aside, the bang is typically very much worth the buck. For the price of a t-shirt you’ll get a box of goodies that come in all sorts of themes and gimmicks. Alright enough chatter. Let’s dig in.

Last month’s Loot Crate was probably the worst and most disappointing one I’ve ever received. I told myself before this month’s Loot Crate arrived that it was a new year and time for a fresh start. Congratulations Loot Crate, you’ve redeemed yourself. I’m so stoked that things are starting out on the right foot and we’ve swung to the complete opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to the quality of the items in my box.

If you haven’t seen West World, Rick and Morty or X-Files, then you’re severely missing out of some of the best content television has to offer. Take some of the best and most iconic TV shows out there and make merchandise for them. It’s a pretty easy formula for success. My friends and I will enjoy playing the X-Files card game and arguing who gets to be Scully and who gets to be Mulder. The Westworld pin will look great on my backpack and the Westworld emoscene joins the Stranger Things emoscene in a place of honor on my bookshelf.

Oh and watch out fellas, there’s a new stylish nerd in town. That’s right it’s me. With my Rick and Morty shirt, combined with my Harry Potter socks, the sky is the limit. My only point of criticism is the stain on my Rick and Morty shirt. I also question the wisdom of putting two items from the same television show in the same Loot Crate. Otherwise this is hands down one of the best Loot Crates I’ve ever seen.

Unboxing/Review: Loot Crate January 2018
Is it good?
Rick and Morty shirt is an awesome design and has great colors.
X-Files card game designed to look like Dana Scully's badge.
Westworld pin and emoscene!
Harry Potter socks. Two things I love have been combined.
Rick and Morty t-shirt has a stain on it already. Hopefully it comes out in the wash.
While I love Westworld, not everyone has HBO. Loot Crate took a sizeable gamble putting two Westworld themed items in this box.
