This weekend, Netflix screened the first episode of their new series Lost in Space to the lucky people attending Awesome Con in Washington, D.C. The revival of the ’60s TV show created a lot of buzz around the con and the screening room was filled. I was running behind so I wasn’t able to catch the opening, but I did catch the final 45 minutes. Without spoiling anything, the episode was fantastic! I have seen the Lost in Space re-runs and I think it is safe to say that if you are a fan of the old show, Netflix’s rebirth will not let you down. There are of course some differences, however. The story is darker and more grounded, but the action is exciting and the acting is solid.

I visited the display Netflix had set up for the show, complete with ship controls and life-sized robots, as shown above. I must admit, I was pretty impressed! I am looking forward to April 13th when Lost in Space will be released on Netflix. Danger, Will Robinson!
